Android - v1.70 adds guided FishID in Tools, reusable saved plans, automatic weather and nearby water-temperature lookups, wind and tide charts, and Android 16 support. Check Google Play for update availability during rollout.

iOS v1.0 is available now as a native SwiftUI iPhone app. It is not a web wrapper and uses local-first storage, MapKit, Photos, weather lookups, hosted FishID and planning endpoints, AdMob consent, themes, backup/export, and the same core logbook workflow.

Premium visual system

Use a cleaner Premium interface with themed panels, dashboard-style navigation, improved stats, and selectable Raised 3D and Field Journal styles.

Fish ID Assist

Get AI-assisted species suggestions from a selected photo. Android also includes FishID in Tools, guided camera capture, and optional photo refinement for uncertain matches. Suggestions are estimates, not guaranteed identifications.

Play-compatible update

Android targets Android 16 (API 36), while retaining Android 7.0 and newer support. Includes 16 KB memory page compatibility, update prompts, and improved backup restoration.

Should I Go Fishing planner

Plan from saved locations using your fishing access, target species, available time and forecast conditions. Android separates the bite outlook from evidence confidence, with clear pros, cons and missing-data notices.

Reusable saved plans

On Android, save Today, Tomorrow or specific-date plans with Any time, At, After or Before rules. Use the folder to load details or the magnifying glass to load and check immediately. Relative dates stay relative.

Android forecast charts

View sunrise and sunset, wind and gust estimates, and available saltwater tide curves and high/low times for the requested hours. Nearby water-temperature observations are labeled with source, distance and estimate limits. Coverage varies; conditions do not guarantee a catch.

Add planned trips

Add a recommendation to the logbook as a planned trip, then complete it later with catches and notes.

Trip and catch logs

Track dates, water type, locations, species, bait, technique, notes, length, and weight.

Photos and thumbnails

Attach catch photos and choose the trip card background with crop, zoom, and rotation controls.

Map pin locations

Save latitude and longitude for catches with a satellite map picker and location-aware starting view.

Weather helpers

Use historical weather helpers for the selected trip and catch time, then edit fields manually if needed.

Search and filters

Filter by location, species, water type, date range, and sorting options.

Stats and locations

Review fishing stats, species charts, environmental ranges, most successful locations, and trips by location.

Tools and autocomplete

Manage saved locations, species, lures, and techniques so common entries are ready when logging a trip or catch.

Backup and CSV export

Export a full local backup for moving devices, including trips, catches, photos, saved locations, saved plans, origins, settings, and autocomplete lists.

Safer changes

Delete, import, photo removal, and photo replacement actions ask for confirmation before changing local data.

Android - v1.70

Includes the Android updates developed from v1.62 through v1.70, following v1.61.

Added FishID in Tools for existing photos or guided camera capture. Uncertain matches can be refined by selecting the fish region without changing the original photo.
Trips and plans use saved locations. Real search selections, freshwater/saltwater categories, kayak and surf access choices help keep location details consistent.
Added reusable Today, Tomorrow and specific-date plans with Any time, At, After and Before rules. Relative dates resolve when the plan is used; saved rules are retained in backups.
Added separate Load Only (folder) and Load & Check (magnifying glass) actions, with theme-aware icons and long-press labels. Delete still requires confirmation.
Added automatic weather and water-condition lookups using NOAA/National Weather Service, MET Norway, USGS and NASA POWER. Nearby compatible water-temperature stations are tried when a local reading is unavailable.
